Memorial Day Murph
1 Mile Run
100 Pull Ups
200 Push Ups
1 Mile Run
If you have a 20/14 pound vest, wear it!
This Saturday, May 27th we will honor Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005 by completing Murph in all Group Classes!
This workout was one of Mike’s favorites and he named it “Body Armor.” Currently, it is referred to as “Murph” in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.
Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you’ve got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it. You will have the option to scale to half murph or quarter murph.
Class Schedule: We will run a normal schedule with one heat per class. Expect a quick warm up, review, then GO! If you have your own weight vest please bring one. We will provide as many options as we can, but we can’t guarantee everyone will get a vest.
Barbecue: We’ll start grilling at 11 AM. We will be providing burgers and water. If you want something else to eat or share please bring it!
Please join us! If the workout looks intimidating or you are nervous about joining us don’t be! We will scale the workouts for anyone that needs it due to injuries, skill, and ability. The idea is to challenge yourself and push past your limits, but safety is always our first priority.
We will have visitors including Dr. Kim, Massage Envy and Paleo Treats.
YOU WON’T REGRET IT WHEN YOU FINISH IT!
